Dallen's Birthday Party!

Dallen turned 11 on Sept. 24th! We celebrated by taking him and his friends to Pirate Island Restuarant. It just opened in Orem. They had a great time playing games in the arcade, eating pizza, and being wild! (As only 5th graders can.....) I was glad they did all the work including the treat bags. That many kids in my house?! Oh, I can just imagine!

Alicia Walters Sheffield 1977-2009

These pictures were taken friday. Just 3 days before we lost Alicia to pancreatic cancer. This dinner was at the 3 Alls restaurant in SLC. Alicia loved fantasy and this dinner was done in her honor. We sang, toasted, laughed, hugged and cried. We knew this would be one of the last times that we would be together as a family. Very bittersweet! But we wouldn't have missed it for the world. Alicia with all her siblings....
Her funeral will be Mon. August 31st @ 11:00 am. in payson.

Update on Alicia

She is hanging in there. Her faith and strength are remarkable. She is currently doing a new form of chemotheraphy and some oxygen treatments. Both they are hopeful will slow the progression of the cancer and buy her more time. They have also received so many kind acts of service from friends and ward members. They were given a 4 night stay at a hotel in Salt Lake. They get to go and have some time together as a family. Alicia was also given a wheelchair. Which will be a wonderful blessing. She is slowly losing her ablility to walk. (She is no longer able to drive.)Thank you to everyone for your kind words, prayers, and ideas. We appreciate them all.

The unthinkable

An update on Alicia:
On Thursday July 2nd-
My sweet baby sister was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer. The survival rate for this is 0%. She has been sick for over a year and has progressively gotten worse. We were hoping for a diagnosis that would offer more hope. Our hearts are broken for her, her husband and 4 kids. She is given 3-6 months to live. Her kids are 12, 9, 6 & 3 years. To think of them living the rest of their lives without their mother is unimaginable. And to lose my sister is unfathomable. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. I will update this periodically for those that want to know.

Memorial Day

We hiked up to the "Y" for memorial day. It's a short but very uphill hike!

Dallen was so excited to be on the Y! He's been wanting to do this for a while.

We also went to the provo cemetery to see our "babies".
Two angels on earth-Two angels in heaven.

Spring Break!

We had a great (if a little scary) spring break. Rob & I flew to Vegas for a few days. It was fun and we had a great view out of our window. It was cold though. We expected it to be warm. It was in the 60's until we left and then it was almost 80! ( that's our luck ). We sent Dallen with the Morrill's to their ranch for the week. They were only there for a few hours when Dallen fell down part of a cliff and broke his wrist! He split his head open too! 8 stitches! ( more good luck. LOL) We of course were not there and they had to take him to Richfield to see a Dr. He's ok now. He'll get his cast on Wed. He's going to have a huge scar on his forehead. (HE of course thinks that's cool!) It turned out to be a fun week despite the drama. We flew back from Vegas and joined them at the ranch on Friday. We hiked all over Capitol Reef , saw waterfalls, rode 4-wheelers, and had a blast! Dallen did it all with one arm of course!
